Olympia 2018: Gold medal for Norwegian speed skaters in team pursuit

The Norwegian speed skaters have surprisingly won gold in team pursuit at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. The Scandinavians, who had defeated the top favourite Netherlands in the semi-final, beat hosts South Korea (3:38.52) in the final in 3:37.32 minutes.

Four years ago in Sochi, South Korea had already won silver in team pursuit, which has been part of the Olympic programme since 2006.

Sochi winner Netherlands and 5000m Olympic champion Sven Kramer won bronze in the small final against New Zealand as in 2006 and 2010. A German team was not at the start.
