Olympia 2018: Women’s Ice Hockey: Finland wins bronze for the third time

Finland’s women won their third bronze medal at the Olympic Games. In the small final of Pyeongchang, the World Cup third place was won 3-2 (1-0,2-1,0-1,0-1) against the Olympic athletes from Russia and repeated the success of 1998 and 2010.

The 44-year-old Riikka Välilä has been the oldest Olympic ice hockey medalist since Wednesday. The attacker had already won bronze in Nagano 20 years ago.

Olga Sossina (23rd) and Lyudmila Beljakova (47th) met for the Russian team. The gold final on Thursday (13.10 hrs OZ/5.10 CET) will be contested by record Olympic champion Canada and world champion USA.
