In the magazine Sports Illustrated, more than a dozen current and former employees of Mavericks had described the working atmosphere in the franchise as poisoned. Allegations of sexual harassment were also made.

“I was disgusted when I read the article – just like everyone else,” Nowitzki said:”I was shocked that such things happened in our franchise, in my franchise.

Former Mavs President and CEO Terdema Ussery and another employee are accused of behaving inappropriately towards female employees. Ussery left the club in 2015 after 18 years. Players are not affected by the allegations.

Mark Cuban, owner of Mavericks, took responsibility for the report. The Mavericks have launched an independent investigation to investigate the matter.
