Ice Hockey: DEL: Stewart remains coach in Augsburg

The Augsburg Panthers extended their contract with coach Mike Stewart for another season until 2019 before the season-end sprint in the German Ice Hockey League.

This was announced by the Panthers on Friday. The 45-year-old Stewart enters his fourth season with the Franks.

“Now that my personal future has been clarified, it’s up to me to reach the play-offs with three victories. At the same time, of course, we are also working intensively on cadre planning,”said Stewart. Augsburg is on twelfth place with 63 points after 49 games.

“We are glad that Mike Stewart has decided to stay with the Augsburg Panthers despite other options in Germany and abroad. We are convinced that Mike is the right trainer for us,”said Panther’s main shareholder Lothar Sigl.
