Handball: THW Kiel also loses in the Champions League

The shapely German record holder THW Kiel suffered a setback in the Champions League as well. On the 13th. On the third matchday of the group stage, the Kielers, who had already qualified for the round of sixteen, lost 29:30 (17:16) against the Polish series champion KS Vive Kielce and missed their sixth win in a row.

In Group B’s table, the North Germans remain in fourth place. Best thrower was Kiel’s Patrick Wiencek with eight goals.

Two days after the Bundesliga defeat at TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, the team from Kiel, who are only sixth in the league, wanted to recharge their self-confidence in the royal class. This failed especially in the second half.

The guests opened the second round with a 5:1 run and did not let themselves take the lead any more. At the end of the group phase, THW will take part in the 3rd round of the competition. March with the already established group winner Paris St. Germain.
