Shock for the Minnesota Timberwolves! All-Star Jimmy Butler was injured on his knee when he lost to the Houston Rockets. Now there is a danger of a long failure.
A few minutes before the end of the third quarter, Butler landed hard on his right foot after an offensive action and then went down. He apparently twisted his knee, which he immediately held with his face distorted by pain.
Afterwards, he was treated on the floor for about three minutes before he limped into the cabin with the support of his team-mates. He couldn’t bear the weight of his knee. According to reports, an initial X-ray examination showed no structural damage, but an MRI is still pending:”Until the MRI is done, we can only speculate. Tomorrow we’ll know more,”said Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau. I want the investigation done when the team gets back to Minnesota.
TNT expert David Aldridge later wrote on Twitter that the franchise was cautiously optimistic that at least there was no injury from the severity of a cruciate ligament rupture. Butler team mate Taj Gibson, however, admitted that Butler had already smiled again and stressed that he was okay.
