MLB: Kemp beats Homerun at comeback for the Dodgers

Returnee Matt Kemp returned impressively in his first match for the Los Angeles Dodgers since 2014. In the Dodgers’ Cactus League game against the Chicago White Sox (13:5), Kemp hit a 3-run homerun straight away and then showed himself to be delighted.

In the third inning at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, Kemp beat his homerun against right-hander Tyler Danish 3-3 over the fence in left field and put his team on the winning road – it was the runs to 6-3 for Los Angeles.

“You all pretend I’ve been gone forever,”Kemp then told reporters, admitting,”That was exciting for me.”

And for his critics who question his defense, he also had a comment:”I caught my first fly ball today. So we’re fine,” said manager Dave Roberts, who said:”He looks like he’s moving well. We also challenged him a little bit. He knows very well that this is a team with a lot of good players. He’s here to face the competition, and that’s something he likes to accept.”

Kemp was drawn by the Dodgers in Draft 2003 and played for his first team until 2014. Subsequently, the Dodgers sent him via trade to the San Diego Padres, who handed him over to the Atlanta Braves in 2016. Another trade finally brought Kemp back to the West Coast.

His contract, which he signed with the Dodgers in 2012 (8 years old/160 million dollars), is still the same and guarantees the outfielder who is fighting for the left-field starter’s place, 43 million dollars until the end of 2019.
