Olympia 2018: Bitter!

For the first time since 2002, Austria’s parallel snowboarders have not won a medal at the Olympic Winter Games.

Benjamin Karl retired as the last ÖSV driver in the quarter-finals against Korean Lee Sangho on Saturday in Bokwang. The Lower Austrian had previously taken his room mate Andreas Prommegger out of the competition in the last sixteen. Also Alexander Payer and Sebastian Kislinger did not get past the last sixteen.

In the women’s competition, Ina Meschik and Daniela Ulbing failed in the quarter-finals. Sochi slalom Olympic champion Julia Dujmovits was already stuck in the last sixteen. Claudia Riegler did not even qualify for the competition after a crash in the qualification.
