Golf: Heisele eighth in Doha

Golf pro Sebastian Heisele has achieved his third best result on the European Tour in Doha/Katar. The 29-year-old from Munich played a 68 on the final round of the $1.75 million event and moved up to the divided eighth place (274 strokes) with four strokes under par from position 16.

In his first season on the PGA tour, Heisele finished third last September in the Dutch Spijk, having finished fourth in Portimao/Portugal in May.

Marcel Siem lost some ground in the desert state on the final day and dropped back to 28th place after a lap of 71 with a total of 278 strokes. After a weak 76, Marcel Schneider finished only in 70th place (285 strokes). The Englishman Eddie Pepperell clinched his first victory on the European Tour with a total of 270 strokes.
