Since 1985, the Homerun Derby has been an integral part of the All-Star Week on the eve of the All-Star Games. In the Derby, eight MLB players compete against each other and try to hit as many balls as possible on the stands of the respective ball park within a given time.

The Homerun Derby 2018 takes place on 16. July at 8 pm East Coast time (17. July, 2 o’ clock CEST), almost exactly 24 hours before the beginning of the 89. All-Star Games, held.
