NHL: Draisaitl meets and wins thriller in Anaheim

Young star Leon Draisaitl scored a close 6:5 victory in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers against Anaheim Ducks after a penalty shoot-out. Draisaitl led the Oilers and prepared the 3-2 by Ryan Strome.

For the 22-year-old, it was the 20. Hits and 37. Assist this season. Even in the “Shootout” Draisaitl was accurate. Superstar Connor McDavid transformed the decisive penalty. In the Western Conference, the Oilers are still in 13th place with 58 points.

The Oilers still remain third last in the West. For Anaheim, who played without the German international Korbinian Holzer, it was a dampener in the fight for a play-off place. The Ducks are still third in the Pacific Division with 74 points, but the pursuers are only just behind.
