NFL: Detroit Lions: Franchise Day for Ezekiel Ansah

Ezekiel Ansah will continue to play for the Detroit Lions next season. The Defensive End was awarded with the Franchise Day, reports NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Accordingly, Ansah will earn 17.5 million dollars in the 2018 season as soon as he signs the day. With 12 sacks, 44 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, he ranked among the best players in his position in 2017.

In 2013, Lions drafted Ansah to fifth place in round one. The club and players were unable to agree on a long-term contract extension.
