DEL: Swedish Alavaara becomes Sports Manager of Adler Mannheim

The Swede Jan-Axel Alavaara takes over from 1. In July, he was appointed Sports Manager at the Adler Mannheim Ice Hockey Club.

The 42-year-old, who had been a member of the German Ice Hockey League’s Grizzlys Wolfsburg from 2008 to 2011, signed a three-year contract with the seven-time DEL champion. Alavaara will continue his current job as a scout for the NHL club Buffalo Sabres until he starts work in Mannheim.

“He has a broad network and has been able to identify with the reorientation and the coaching team of Pavel Gross and Mike Pellegrims from the very beginning of our discussions,”said Daniel Hopp, Managing Director of Adler:”We also want to see his commitment as an opening up to the Scandinavian market and thus a significantly broader positioning in the club’s sporting field”.
