NFL: New York Jets dismiss Muhammad Wilkerson

The New York Jets have fired their defensive Lineman Muhammad Wilkerson. This was announced by the team on Wednesday.

Although the jets had negotiated a new five-year contract with Wilkerson only two weeks ago, the New Yorkers now dismissed the 28-year-old.

His new contract would have cost Wilkerson $86 million. Dismissal saves the Jets $12.5 million in cap space for next season.
