NBA: Jordan wants to stay “another 10 years” with the Clippers

Over the past few years, DeAndre Jordan has often heard his name in trade rumors, and this summer the center could become a Free Agent. With Yahoo! Jordan has now talked about his future.

In summer 2017 Chris Paul left the team via trade, shortly before the deadline Blake Griffin was also traded at the end of January. DeAndre Jordan is now the last part of the Clipper’s Big 3, which is actually still playing in Los Angeles, but he has also been mentioned in rumours:”It’s not so dramatic,”the center said,”There was a lot going on. and accept everything that’s happened.”

The rumors are no problem for him:”I am here, and that’s what it’s all about for me. I hope that I will be able to play here for another ten years,”said Jordan,”My name has been mentioned again and again in rumours in recent years, but I don’t care. I don’t care anymore. I just play as hard as I can because I love this team. I like the direction we’re heading.”

After many interpreted the Griffin-Trade as a step towards rebuild, the clippers are still in the race for the playoff places in the west. Jordan himself has 11.6 points and 14.9 rebounds over the season. How the Clippers plan with him in summer, however, is unclear.

Jordan still has a player option for the coming season that would earn him $24.2 million. However, it is unclear whether the then 30-year-old would prefer to leave his contract and go for a longer-term deal.
