With WWE Fastlane in front of the door, SmackDown is even better. Charlotte Flair and Ruby Riott get into each other’s hair, in the Main Event Sami Zayn can make a big statement.
Directly to the start of the show it started out loud. Charlotte and Ruby threw some words around their ears in the ring, which almost moved the Riott squad to attack. Ultimately, US champion Bobby Roode was able to de-escalate the situation.
That same Roode eventually took a seat at the commentator’s desk. He watched the match between Mahal and Orton. For a long time it looked like a victory for The Viper, but Mahal was able to win the match at the last minute.
After some nasty words, Ziggler and Styles were suddenly facing each other in SmackDown just before their title fight at Fastlane.
The YEP-movement put an end to the robbery of the fans: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn separated the fighters and beat them up.
This led Shane McMahon to schedule a fatal 5-way match for the Main Event. All four superstars were to compete against each other and Baron Corbin was thrown into the draw.
In view of the five superstars in the ring, there was a lot of chaos. In the end, Zayn could triumph with a lot of symbolism: With a Helluva Kick he knocked out Kumpel Owens and pinned his (ex?) partner to victory.
