MLB: Kansas City Royals engage pitcher Ricky Nolasco

Kansas City Royals hired pitcher ricky nolasco. The right-hander receives a Minor League contract with an invitation to the training camp.

In the last two seasons, Nolasco has been active for the Los Angeles Angels, where he recorded a record of 6-15 with a 4.92 ERA last year. He has been playing in the MLB for twelve years and is 114-118 with a 4.56 ERA for the Angels, Dodgers, Marlins and Twins.

The commitment came one day after Missouri pitcher Jesse Hahn was on the 60-Day Disabled List. The right-hander suffers with an injury on the collateral ligament of his right elbow.

Hahn will be talking to Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles to get a second opinion. Hahn had already undergone Tommy John Surgery in 2010.

Nolasco, on the other hand, will now fight for a place in the rotation of the Royals, in which only Danny Duffy, Ian Kennedy and Jason Hammel can be considered seeded so far.
