NHL: Setback for Champion Kühnhackl, Grubauer flawless

After three victories in a row, international Tom Kühnhackl suffered a setback in the NHL with defending champions Pittsburgh Penguins. In the Toronto Maple Leaves, the Stanley Cup champion lost 2:5 and lost first place in the Metropolitan Division to the Washington Capitals led by goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer.

Grubauer had a 2-0 shutdown at the San Jose Sharks, but the goalie was left without a conceding goal for the second time this season, defending 24 shots. The Caps lead 83 points, just ahead of Pittsburgh (82) and the Philadelphia Flyers (81).

This helps to get into the game,”said the Rosenheim man after his success:” But today it could have gone in the other direction. You’ve hit the post four or five times. I’m glad we have the two dots.”

Leon Draisaitl scored his 22nd on Sunday night. The Edmonton Oilers striker scored a 3-1 win against Minnesota Wild in a 4-1 win against the Minnesota Wild. The Canadians are third last in the west and are 16 points behind the second wildcard place.
