NFL: Seattle Seahawks extend with Bradley McDougald

The Seattle Seahawks have taken out their insurance against a continuing loss of Kam Chancellor. Backup-Safety Bradley McDougald has signed a three-year $14 million contract.

McDougald will be in the strong safety position next season if Chancellor would not get fit in time. Chancellor had to end the past season early with a neck injury.

After Earl Thomas was injured, McDougald even played Free Safety. So Seattle gets a flexible option for its Secondary, where you have to do without Richard Sherman.

McDougald spent most of his first four years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 303 career missions he came up with 237 tackles and 5 interceptions.
