The Green Bay Packers have entered the free agency competition: according to reports, Green Bay commits Tight End Jimmy Graham – and in return, wide receiver Jordy Nelson leaves.
According to NFL network insider Ian Rapoport, Graham receives a three-year contract in Green Bay. The former Singaporean Tight-End was in talks with his former team New Orleans until the end – the Saints wanted to get Graham back.
However, both sides did not meet financially and the talks came to a halt. Obviously, Green Bay took advantage of this break and straddled between them to buy Aaron Rodgers a new weapon. The financial figures are still outstanding.
In return, however, Rodgers has to do without a long-time friend and co-player: As became known immediately afterwards, the Packers Wide Receiver dismissed Jordy Nelson. Nelson has been a hot candidate for a salary cut in Green Bay for weeks, given the cap hit of $12.5 million.
With the 32-year-old’s release, Green Bay saves a good $10.2 million against the cap – but Rodgers also takes his favorite target.
