The Tennessee Titans continue to invest in their Secondary: after last year’s Logan Ryan and the Draft Adoree’ Jackson, there was now the big fish: The Titans have reached an agreement with Malcolm Butler.
NFL network insider Ian Rapoport reports that Butler in Tennessee will receive a five-year contract worth up to 61 million dollars. According to reports, a good 30 million dollars are guaranteed.
In the Titans, Butler will be reunited with three ex-patriots: In addition to Logan Ryan, the new head coach Mike Vrabel and Titans managing director Jon Robinson also have a patriot past. In addition to Tennessee, Houston, New Orleans, the Jets and Detroit were reportedly also specifically interested in the cornerback.
Butler’s market was fascinating in that no one really knows what happened around the Super Bowl. In the game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Butler was de facto suspended, despite the fact that the Patriots could have used one of their top two cornerbacks and one of the best man-cover cornerbacks in the league. With regard to the Treaty, the Titans do not appear to have any objections in this respect.
