The New York Mets sent Tim Tebow to Minor League Camp. The former NFL quarterback only made a hit in jumping training.
In 18 at-bats Tebow. beat 056 and ended his stay at the Mets 0-4 with four strikes against the Houston Astros. This brings him to eleven strikeouts in seven games this spring.
“I will simply continue to work in all areas and make progress. That really is the focus – to continue and continue the process and the journey,”Tebow told reporters after the game.
Tebow was only used as a Designated Hitter or Pinch-Hitter and his only hit was a single against Erick Fedde from the Washington Nationals on 2. March. He admitted, however, that an ankle injury after a kick on a sprinkler hindered him:”The ankle was already disappointing. But I’ve done a good job and I feel I’m getting better.”
It is still unclear on which level Tebow will play in the Minors. Before the start of the camp, however, there was speculation that he could play at double-A level.
