NBA: LeBron:”I am like good wine”

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers finished 14th in the game against the Phoenix Suns. Triple-double of the season – so many he had never before in his career. He then spoke to ESPN about the reasons for this.

“One can simply say that I am like good wine, I get better with age. That means that,”explained the 33-year-old after hitting 28 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists against Phoenix.

When asked whether triple doubles inflation also had something to do with the league’s faster pace, James clearly disagreed:”More ball possessions? My ass. I just get better with age.”

In fact, according to ESPN Stats & Info, the cavs in James’ rookie year had 94.6 ball possessions per game, currently there are 101. The league average has grown from 92.69 to 99.54 possessions per match in the same period.

Of course, James doesn’t care. The superstar is now in sixth place with 69 triple doubles in his career. In the current season James plays 26.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 9 assists on average.
