Ice hockey: DEL: DEG separates from four players

The eight-time German champions Düsseldorf EC have not renewed the expiring contracts of four players.

The long-established club in the DEL thus responded to the disappointing 2017/18 season, in which DEG missed the play-off qualification for the second time in a row.

DEG separates itself from the defenders Tim Conboy, Stephan Daschner and Brandon Burlon. Alexej Dmitriev also leaves the Rhinelanders. Conboy, who ran for DEG 107 times, had already announced his career close to the end of the season due to injury.

Burlon had come from the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL) in the summer of 2017, but could not live up to the club’s expectations. So does Stephan Daschner, who has to leave the red-yellow after four years. DEG was unable to reach agreement with Dmitriev on the terms of the contract.
