Alpine Skiing: Shiffrin wins the Aare slalom again with a mega advantage

Ski star Mikaela Shiffrin has won the seventh World Cup special slalom in the 2017/18 season at the finale in Aare, Sweden. The American beat Swiss Wendy Holdener (+1.58 seconds) and Olympic champion Frida Hansdotter from Sweden (1.59) on Saturday. Bernadette Schild dropped from second to fifth place in the second race.

Two other ÖSV ladies made it into the top ten. Katharina Gallhuber came seventh, Katharina Liensberger came eighth. Katharina Truppe came 14th in the penultimate women’s race of the season. Her Carinthian compatriot Carmen Thalmann finished 16th just outside the points.
