DEL: Adduono no longer coach in Krefeld

The Krefeld Penguins are looking for a new coach for the next season. On Saturday, the last of the standings announced that former head coach Rick Adduono will in future only work for the club as a scout and consultant.

“After all these years as head coach, I think it’s time for a change behind the line,” said the 63-year-old Canadian.

Adduono had already trained the penguins from 2009 to 2015 and led them into the play-offs four times during this time. In December 2016 he returned to Krefeld, but the old successes did not return.

“We will bring about a change,” said Wolfgang Schulz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The 2003 champion wants to present a new coach by mid-April.
