NFL: Draft-Trade: Jets secure third pick from the Colts

The New York Jets have secured their third pick in the upcoming NFL draft in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts. With this, the jets are probably also entering the race for one of the coveted college quarterbacks.

As the team announced on Twitter on Saturday, they gave their own first round pick (No. 6) to the Colts, the Horseshoes also got three second round picks.

With a score of 5-11, the jets missed the playoffs in the 2017 season and were desperately looking for a franchise quarterback in the off-season. However, candidates such as Kirk Cousins or Case Keenum decided in favor of the competition, which is why Gang Green initially extended the contract with Josh McCown and hired Teddy Bridgewater.

Nevertheless, they obviously didn’t want to miss the quarterback draft class: With Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold and Josh Allen, four potential franchise quarterbacks are traded, all of which should be penalized early in the first round.

Conversely, the Colts are counting on quarterback Andrew Luck, who has been particularly noticeable in recent years due to injuries, to finally get completely fit again. With the picks you can strengthen yourself especially in the width.

Draft 2018 will take place from 26-28. April in Arlington, Texas.
