NFL: Houston Texans sign defensive back tyrant Mathieu

The Houston Texans sign defensive back tyrant Mathieu, after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday. The club confirmed that on Friday.

The Houston Texans have added another top player to their already strong defence. The club announced that it has reached an agreement with Defensive Back Tyrann Mathieu on a one-year contract for seven million US dollars.

The 2015 Pro Baller was only dismissed by the Cardinals on Wednesday after not agreeing to accept a salary cut on his $19 million annual contract. His agent had even speculated that he would get an even higher contract in the Free Agency. Although this didn’t work out, the defensive back will try to find his way back to his old pro-ball form and then sign a big contract in 2019.

Besides Mathieu, the Texans in this Free Agency have already renewed with veteran Jonathan Joseph. In addition, cornerback Aaron Colvin and special teamer Johnson Bademosi will strengthen the Texans’ defence.
