Basketball: BBL: Oldenburg runner-up strengthens play-off spot

Vice champion EWE Baskets Oldenburg has come one step closer to its renewed participation in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) play-off.

After 87:61 (41:34) at the Central German BC, the Telekom Baskets Bonn with the same points stand directly in front of Oldenburg. The Frankfurt Skyliners consolidated their eighth and last play-off place (28:20) with a 90:82 (52:42) victory over the second to last Rockets Erfurt.

Oldenburg struggled against relegation candidate Bremerhaven for a long time. Only an 8:0-run for the 80:69 brought the decision in the final quarter. The best caster of the EWE Baskets was Mickey McConnell with 19 points.
