NBA: Pels coach Gentry rages: “Can’t be that arbitrators guess”

After Clippers coach Doc Rivers, Alvin Gentry, coach of the New Orleans Pelicans, now also complains about the referees’ performances after the match against the Houston Rockets.

“All we want is a fair game,” Gentry told ESPN angrily:”We can’t have the referees guessing the most important game and a foul being whistled in the corner on a threesome.”

Gentry addresses a situation in which Pelicans-Guard Jrue Holiday fouled James Harden in a corner threesome. Already during the game Gentry showed his dissatisfaction – and got a technical foul:”If you get a technical foul, although you turn away from the official, that’s not right,” explains Gentry.

Harden also disagreed: “He touched me. Enough to influence my shot. Good whistle.”

Gentry was also bothered by the fact that Anthony Davis (only 4 free throws against the Rockets), on the other hand, doesn’t get calls like this: “AD never gets the whistles. And you know why? Because he’s not complaining. He just keeps playing,” says Gentry.
