NBA: Stan Van Gundy rages over Refs: “Embarrassing for the League”

Stan Van Gundy of the Detroit Pistons is the next coach to complain about the referees. He described the performance of the Refs in the game against the Portland Trail Blazers as “embarrassing”.

“It’s embarrassing for the refs personally and for the league,” Van Gundy said after the defeat against the Trail Blazers:”I’ve been here for four years and in the years before, I’ve never said anything like that before after a game, but we got screwed today.”

Van Gundy was particularly angry about the lack of foul whistles: “They stopped in every action and got away with it. Luke Kennard does a back-cut, gets pushed, and at the end it’s light spots on the other side.”

For the Piston coach, there are no excuses in these cases:”Many refs say:’If I had seen it, I would have whistled’. It’s your damn job to see these situations. What the hell are they on the floor for?”
