NBA: College Star Young confirms: Sign me up for the draft

As expected, Trae Young of the Oklahoma Sooners will register for the upcoming NBA draft. This was announced by the Guard in an essay at ESPN.

“I’ve spent most of my life preparing to join the NBA, and now it’s time for me: after an unforgettable year in Oklahoma, I’m going to participate in the NBA Draft in June and focus fully on starting a professional basketball career,” Young writes.

The move was expected by all the experts after Young retired with Oklahoma in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Rhode Island, even though the Guard had played 28 points and 7 rebounds in the game.

Young had been considered a candidate for a lottery pick throughout the season, as he was particularly dominant in the early stages of the NBA year. His playing reminded many observers of the young Stephen Curry.

Young scored 27.4 points over the season, with an average of 8.7 assists.
