Basketball: EuroLeague: Bamberg play their last play-off chance

German basketball series champion Brose Bamberg also lost his last theoretical chance to make it into the play-offs in the EuroLeague. In the penultimate away match at Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz, coach Luca Banchi’s side lost 79-33 (39-50) and, with 17 defeats out of 27 matches, can no longer make it into the top eight teams.

In the Spanish Basque Country Bamberg, who had won 78:72 in the first leg, gave away the first (14:27) and the third quarter (13:30). Especially from the triple line the guests didn’t get along for a long time. Brose narrowly won the other two quarters. Nikos Zisis was the best caster of the Bamberg team with 17 points.

Jayson Granger also scored 17 points for the Basques, who maintained their play-off chance with 14 wins and 13 losses.
