While the hottest free agency phase is already a week ago, one of the biggest fish is still swimming in the water: Ndamukong Suh has not yet decided on a team after his release in Miami. But now a decision is imminent.
NFL network insider Ian Rapoport reports that Suh has cancelled his meeting with the Oakland Raiders scheduled for Wednesday. Instead, he flew back home to Portland to reconsider his options.
This suggests the suspicion that a decision is now pending on the one hand – but that the circle of serious candidates has also been established on the other.
Suh first met with the New Orleans Saints after his release in Miami, followed by visits to the Tennessee Titans and then to the Los Angeles Rams. Suh has never made a secret of the fact that he mainly looks at the financial side. Assuming that the three teams here do not differ too much – otherwise a decision would probably have been made – the Saints and the Rams in particular offer highly interesting options.
Both teams can already be considered as Contenders for 2018, Suh would have spectacular players for both: In New Orleans he could play alongside Sheldon Rankins and especially Cam Jordan, the duo in L.A. would be even more destructive: here he would form the defensive tackle duo together with Aaron Donald.
The Titans are probably one step further away from the top of the league than the other two contenders, but the defensive tackle duo would also be spectacular here: Suh would play alongside Jurrell Casey.
