Basketball: Bavaria fails in EuroCup semi-final

The basketball players of cup winner Bayern Munich have missed the EuroCup final.

Three days after the unnecessary 74:76 first leg bankruptcy at the Turkish club Darüssafaka Istanbul, the Bundesliga leader also lost the second game of the best-of-three series in his own hall after another half-time lead with 83:87 (44:41).

Reggie Redding scored 14 points for coach Sasa Djordjevic’s team, who led 17 points in Istanbul at half-time. Istanbul’s Bosnian international Scottie Wilbekin, however, made the Bavarians desperate.

The American-born scored 41 points on a day of his dreams, turning ten triples in 15 attempts alone, thus preventing a decisive third game next Wednesday in Istanbul.
