NFL: Eagles bring Mike Wallace as Smith’s replacement

The Philadelphia Eagles have found their new Speedster receiver: The defending champion reached an agreement with Mike Wallace late Thursday evening.

The Eagles have already confirmed the agreement and Wallace is awarded a one-year contract in Philadelphia. According to NFL network insider Ian Rapoport, it’s worth $2.5 million.

Although the defending champion doesn’t have much cap space left, Philly still needed a Speedster receiver. Last season Torrey Smith had this role, but it was handed over to the Panthers via Trade.

Wallace thus adds a versatile receiving corps to the Eagles: Zach Ertz is one of Philly’s best tight ends of the past season, while Alshon Jeffery is the number one outside-receiver. Nelson Agholor flourished in the slot last season.
