Snowboard: Anna Gasser has Big-Air-Kristall fix

For snowboarder Anna Gasser there is another success in the Big Air after the Olympic victory. As last season, the Carinthian secured the overall victory in the Big Air World Cup, although she will not compete in the final this weekend in Quebec. Her only remaining rival, Swiss Carla Somaini, crashed in qualifying on Friday and missed the final.

Somaini, who suffered a bruised shinbone on her first attempt, would at least have had to finish second in order to catch Gasser: “It’s the perfect conclusion to a great season for me that the little crystal ball has gone out for victory in the Big Air World Cup,” said Gasser. She had celebrated victories in this discipline in Milan and Beijing.

In the men’s singles, Philipp Kundratitz from Tyrol was just tenth in the decision. Alois Lindmoser from Salzburg retired in 16th place. off.
