The crazy story of Loyola continues! After the Ramblers won the first three games as clear underdogs with a total advantage of 4 points, Loyola scored an almost easy victory against Kansas State.
The Ramblers got off to a perfect start. The spalding went well through the own rows, the resulting open litters found their way through the cage with almost unbelievable certainty. Loyola had already taken a 36-24 lead at half-time, “They quickly took a high lead and then it was hard for us to come back,” said Xavier Sneed, who led Kansas State with 16 points, “They didn’t take their foot off the gas”.
The Number 11 seed sunk 57 percent of her field attempts, including 9 out of 18 from a distance. Especially Ben Richardson was on fire, the senior set up a new career high with 23 points (6/7 trio), Marques Townes (13 points, 4/6 FG) also convinced. On the other hand, the Ramblers only allowed a field throw quota of 35 percent from the field (6/26 threesomes).
Loyola is only the fourth Number 11 seed in NCAA history to reach the Final Four. In San Antonio the Ramblers meet Michigan with Moritz Wagner.
