Christian Prokop has reacted to the serious injury of Simon Ernst and Tim Kneule for the international matches against Serbia in Leipzig (4. April) and Dortmund (7. April) was subsequently nominated. The Gummersbach middle man Ernst drops out for a long time with a cruciate ligament tear. Kneule from Göppingen has played 27 internationals (43 goals).

“We were very much looking forward to Simon Ernst, but this new cruciate ligament rupture is simply tragic for him. We wish Simon maximum energy for the way back. With Tim Kneule we have a strong representative,” said Axel Kromer, the Sports Director of the German Handball Federation (DHB).

After the European Championship debacle in January, Prokop and his team have made a fresh start against Serbia. These are the first international matches on the way to the 2019 World Cup.
