Ice Hockey: NHL: Defeat for goal scorer Draisaitl, victory for Kühnhackl

National ice hockey player Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers have suffered another defeat after missing the play-offs in the NHL.

The team from the Canadian province of Alberta lost to Anaheim Ducks, where defender Korbinian Holzer was not involved, 4-5 after extra time despite a 3-1 lead.

Draisaitl had scored 3-1 shortly before the end of the second period and Hampus Lindholm scored the winning goal in the second minute of overtime. For Anaheim it was an important victory in the fight for the play-offs.

Things went better for Tom Kühnhackl and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The defending champion won 5-4 after extra time against the Philadelphia Flyers and is therefore still on the play-off course. Bryan Rust scored the decisive goal in the third minute of overtime. Kühnhackl stood 9:14 minutes on the ice.
