Stephen Curry will be absent from the Golden State Warriors for at least three weeks. Point guard has spun the inner ligament. Coach Steve Kerr now explained that the two-time MVP will not be available in the first playoff round.
“He won’t be in the first round,” Kerr told the media, “We’ll investigate him again in three weeks. In the meantime, we’ll have to get along without him, and then we’ll see how he’s doing.”
The good news is that we’ve already had similar situations. Last year Kevin Durant was injured, even though the time was different. But it was a similar injury and similar circumstances.”
Kerr therefore sees some parallels to last season and believes that his team will be absolutely competitive at the beginning of the playoffs even without Curry. We know that Steph has always played well after injuries. So there’s a chance we can play at the highest level when he returns. That must be our goal.”
Curry injured himself in the game against the Atlanta Hawks when Center JaVale McGee fell on the leg of the two-time MVP. It was Curry’s first game after he had to suspend six games for an ankle injury.
