Is Earl Thomas leaving the Seattle Seahawks too? While Seattle has already parted ways with a few veterans and possible further goodbyes are imminent, Thomas spread uncertainty about his future over the weekend.
During one NFL media event in Ireland, Thomas and other players were guests at NFL UK Live. Commenting on his future in Seattle, Safety said: “I hope I will stay. But right now, nobody knows. It’s a guessing game. We’ll see what happens.”
A goodbye to Thomas would be the hardest blow for a Seahawks team that is in upheaval this off-season: Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett, Jimmy Graham and Sheldon Richardson, among others, were handed over or let go, while Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril are faced with the threat of a career end due to injuries.
Thomas promptly made it clear again via Twitter that he personally has no intention of leaving Seattle and that he and his family feel more than comfortable in the city and with the Seahawks.
I’ve always been a cowboy fan,” Thomas said after the 21-12 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The 28-year-old had caused a stir when he told Dallas coach Jason Garrett in the catacombs of AT&T Stadium: “If you get the chance, get me.”
