Basketball: BBL: Redding and Saibou closed after scuffle

After the top match in the BBL against rival Alba Berlin (72:91), top runner Bayern Munich has to make do without Reggie Redding for longer. The American was banned for three games because of a scuffle with opponent Joshiko Saibou.

Redding received the penalty from game director Dirk Horstmann (Kamen) for an assault, Saibou also has to watch for the time being. The German international must be punished for assault in a minor case. Both have to pay 2000 euros.

After a basket of Saibou at the end of the third quarter, Redding had pushed the Berliner away from under the basket twice. Saibou fought back, then a pack was formed.

Bavarian professional Devin Booker, who was also sent into the cabin by the referee on Sunday after the incident, was “unlocked” by the BBL and may continue his run on. Redding and Saibou may appeal the decisions within three days.
