MLB: 2018 Season Previews – NL West: There can only be one

In the National League West, there will be no way around the mighty Dodgers in the 2018 season. Behind it, however, the race is open and depends on various variables such as the health of top performers.

All in all, the Diamondbacks still have a balanced squad and they also managed to keep J.D.’s departure. Martinez with the commitment of Steven Souza Jr. to a certain extent. Pitching is also prepared for another playoff run.

Health could be a problem for the snakes. Souza Jr. the season will start on the Disabled List, with starter Shelby Miller after his Tommy John Surgery last October is not to be expected on a stake 2018 and Zack Greinke misses the Opening Day with groin problems. This is not a good omen.

Forecast: 3rd place in NL West.
