Alpine Skiing: Speed specialist Patrick Schweiger ends his career

Alpine skier Patrick Schweiger has finished his active career. The 28-year-old speed specialist from Mühlbach am Hochkönig was repeatedly thrown back by injuries.

“The whole past season has been very difficult for me. Due to my persistent knee problems, however, it doesn’t make sense anymore,” explained the Salzburg-based ski association in a broadcast.

In the World Cup he was eighth in Val Gardena in 2015 and seventh in Hinterstoder in 2016 and achieved his best results in the Super-G. He now wants to devote more time to his business studies.

On Sunday, technical specialist Carmen Thalmann surprisingly resigned.
