After a two-year break from competition, the British boxer Amir Khan will make his comeback in the boxing ring against Canadian Phil Lo Greco on Saturday (11.30 pm). Even before the fight both fighters attacked each other verbally. SPOX gives you the information where you can follow the fight and who the two opponents are.
After trying his hand at middleweight in his last fight to date, Khan is now returning to welterweight, where Lo Greco has spent his entire professional career.
The welterweight fight between Amir Khan and Phil Lo Greco will take place on Saturday, April 21, at 11.30 pm. The battle will take place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
In Germany the streaming portal DAZN shows the fight live.
The “Netflix des Sports” broadcasts numerous sports competitions live. Besides football from the European top leagues and numerous matches from the NBA, NHL and NFL, DAZN also shows numerous boxing matches, most recently the world championship duel between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker. DAZN costs 9,99 Euro per month, but you can get a free trial month before.
Already before the fight both boxers showed that they don’t like each other very much. At the pre-fight press conference, Lo Greco alluded to Khan’s defeat in the last fight against Canelo Alvarez: “After losing to Canelo, you got into a negative streak – you lost your family and your wife and then you go out and twitter to the heavyweight world champion. What’s wrong with you, man?”
Khan’s reaction was not long in coming: he immediately poured the contents of his water glass into Lo Greco’s face.
Even though Amir Khan has not been in the ring for two years, he is considered the favourite. After all, he was already world champion and super world champion in the light welterweight. He is still undefeated in his four welterweight fights, his defeat against Alvarez he won on a unique outing to the middleweight.
While Amir Khan has already fought some great battles and is a well-known personality especially in Great Britain, Phil Lo Greco is still waiting for the great successes. Although he won 28 of his 31 professional fights, he lost three of his last six duels.
