Boxing: Fury makes his comeback in Manchester in June

Tyson Fury returns to the ring and will fight an unprecedented opponent in Manchester on 9 June, according to consistent media reports.

The former heavyweight world champion from England has signed a corresponding contract with the English promoter Frank Warren. The medium-term goal of the 29-year-old is a fight against Anthony Joshua, who holds the belts of the IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO associations.

Fury’s last fight so far was his encounter with Vladimir Klitschko in November 2015, when he took the title. Then the left hand boom went steadily downhill.

He was tested positive for doping and banned, had drug problems and suffered from depression. The consequence: Fury had to give up his titles. Now he seems to be so well again that nothing stands in the way of a comeback.
