MLB: Do Yankees Stanton beat deeper in the batting order?

After another disappointing series by Giancarlo Stanton, the New York Yankees are apparently considering beating last year’s MVP further down the batting order. However, manager Aaron Boone remains optimistic.

“I could flirt with separating different guys in the Batting Order, but I won’t push him too far down,” Boone said about Stanton after the disappointing 1:9 against the Miami Marlins, Stanton’s former team, on Tuesday night.

In the Yankees’ 16 games to date, Stanton has always beaten in third place, beating .086 (3-35) with 20 strikeouts in eight home games at Yankee Stadium. As calculated by the Elias Sports Bureau, these 20 strikeouts are most likely to be a hit in its first eight home games since 1900.

Away, however, he has beaten .323 (10-31) so far. However, Stanton did not have a reason for this massive discrepancy between home and abroad.

The next Yankee home series starts Thursday against the Blue Jays. But Boone doesn’t want to exaggerate about possible changes to the batting order: “He’s a good at bat away from being back on track. “So the last thing you want to do is put him down enough to pitch around.”

The manager also said, “I’m sure when he gets started, he’ll be a monster.”
