Mike Napoli suffered a serious knee injury in a Minor League game. This was announced by the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday.

Napoli, who signed a Minor League contract with the Indians, injured himself trying to catch a popup in the foul territory.

“He suffered a significant knee injury,” Indians manager Terry Francona said Wednesday. Napoli is currently active for the Columbus Clippers at Triple-A level.

Before Napoli, who had already reached the World Series with the Indians in 2016, played for the Texas Rangers in 2017 before returning to the Indian organization in February.
