NBA: Suns apparently meeting with Steve Clifford

The Phoenix Suns are also considering Steve Clifford in their search for a new head coach, according to media reports. He had recently been released by the Charlotte Hornets.

This is reported by insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. According to this, there has already been initial contact with Clifford, and a meeting is to follow. Clifford has been unemployed for almost a week because he was released by the Charlotte Hornets after the end of the regular season.

Clifford had served the Hornets as head coach for five years and reached the playoffs twice. However, the last two seasons were only enough for a 36-46 balance.

Besides Clifford, Mike Budenholzer from the Hawks, Frank Vogel, David Fizdale and David Blatt are still in the drawing with the Suns. The problem: Besides Phoenix, there are four other franchises (Knicks, Magic, Bucks, Hornets) who are looking for a head coach.
